LFW S/S '15

As London Fashion Week wraps up for another season, I thought I'd share a quick rundown of my personal favourites that I'll be thinking about in my dreams until Spring.

Marios Schwab was a wash of charcoal strokes and shades, as if it had been lifted right off from a sketchbook page. With silver tones and sexy straps slinking down the catwalk, it was a sophisticated callback to the 90s.
I always look forward to Marchesa's collections. They're always so extravagant, and this collection was no exception - it was everything that little girl's would dream of. With sheer and shimmering fabrics draped, and florals in abundance, I can imagine swooshing around in these at every garden tea-party imaginable.
David Koma's collection is how I wish I wore my pastels. More chic, less like I've come right out of a child's colouring book. I love the use of straps and block colouring that gives the perfect mix of being sporty and feminine.
If you're looking for a sleek, shimmering and futuristic emsemblĂ©, then Antonio Berardi's your man. With ombrĂ© suits and sophisticated layering, this collection will take you from office to party, from day to night, and from now to the future.
Burberry has always been a firm favourite of mine, and if this collection is anything to go by, they'll continue to be for a long time to come. One of my favourite collections ever is their S/S '14 (which I blogged about here), and this has the same dreamy element. The tiered layers, the bold, block colours and the shiny, leather contrasting collars and pockets mixed with the denim jackets all make this collection what it is. But for me, it their new take of their classic trench coats and clever use of tulle as the waist-tie and cap sleeves, that really make this collection stand out. It's inheritably British and a fun take on a classic, and that's what Burberry is best out.

And last but not least, just look at this from Anya Hindmarch! It's exactly what the inside of my notebook from school looked like, but much more fun and laid-out. And do I even need to say anything about that pencil clutch bag?! Anya Hindmarch is another person who I'm always excited to see what they come out with next (I dream about her Custard Cream bag and Tiny Tim bag on a daily basis).

Mistletoe & Wine

That sparkly, twinkling, festive-fun-filled season is creeping up upon us once again, and I for one am giddy with excitement!

And if that wasn't a good enough reason to wear your Christmas jumper with pride, tomorrow on Friday 13th December, it's Wear Christmas Jumper day ran by the charity, Save The Children UK.

Apart from the obvious reasons why I love Christmas, spending time with loved ones and stuffing my face full of yummy food, one other the other reasons is the kitsch, insane, adorable and cozy knitwear!

I really do love a Christmas jumper, whether they're cute with reindeers prancing acros it...

....a bit of traditional in a fairisle style....

....more swish and extravagent with some sparkle that even a snow queen would be proud of...
....a bit cheeky and cause a bit of a Christmas chuckle...

....something more home-made and completely crackers and crafty...

...or just good' ol totally and loveablly tacky!
Save The Children UK has also brought in the forces of fashion designers and they've all out their own take on a plain white jumper.

All of them I think, reflect the brand perfectly, and I think it's a brilliant idea! Not only do you get a one-a-kind beautiful piec of knitwear, but you're also helpng with charity....i don't think you could get more speicla than that! So if you can, I'd definitely go and have a bid on one of these!

There's bright and bold from Giles, delicate and floral from Jonathon Saunders...
Funny and festive from Paul Smith or abstract and fruity from Matthew WIlliamson
My personal favourites though are.

This cute and quirky scene of pure British by Burberry, complete with even pouring rain of hearts...
This clever, cozy number by Anya Hidmarsh, beign a lvoer of anagrams, I lvoe the meaning behind this and especially the lettered beads around the neckline and cuffs of the sleeves...
This beautifully and extravagently embellished piece by Alexander McQueen all on a simple and serene pallete of white...
This dreamy concoction of fluffy pastels from Peter Pilotto...

And my ultimate Christmas jumper liust it this beautiful and bold grid of ribbons, mistletoe and holly by Mary Katrantzou , which would just make you look liek the most perfectly wrapped present in all the land.

Recently...

Life's been a little but hectic since I've moved to Sheffield. A new city and new course has made time just absolutely fly by! The course is great too but just a lot of work, but thankfully, I've also got some new housemates and friends who are great and I get on with brilliantly :) So I'm sorry my blgging's been a bit on the quiet side! Instead if leaving it high and dry, here's a little update of late via my instagrammed life:
1.) went for a morning tea at Emma Bridgewater with my mum and this polka dot aga is now on my wishlist for my future dream home
2.) fell head over heels in love for Christopher Bailey's SS'14 collection for Burberry
3.) I got my craft on and added some sparkle to my Vans trainers
4.) spots and stripes feeling like a liquorice all-sort
5.) crammed into the car ready to move up to Sheffield
6.) spending some quality time with my gorgeous nephew
7.) having some scrummy dim-sum with the family
8.) settling into my new room with some pretty lights and photos of friends and family
9.) falling in love with the city of Sheffield
10.) a killer salad I made for dinner of bacon, chicken and avocado
11.) unwinding after a day jam-packed of lectures with Breaking Bad, hoc late and a trusty cuppa
12.) shorthand is taking over my life
13.) being a fresher for the 4th time
14.) having after-uni cocktails with Kim
15.) flat 29C together for a night out for Imogen's birthday
16.) loving the graffiti at my new local vintage shop

I'm hoping I'll get a bit more time to go back to regular blogging when everything settles down a little and I get a better grasp on my course.

Hope you're all well,

British Reign

No, I'm not talking about the typical British weather, but with the city brushing up the confetti and beautiful mess that LFW left behind and I could not feel more proud or patriotic of what our country had produced to showcase to the rest of the world.

With Vivienne Westwood being the godmother of British Punk fashion, her collection did not disappoint, with make-up looking ghoulish and the prints beautifully haunting.

I love the cut-out shoulder detail, the use of loose and draped fabric, and the cocoon shapes.

Mulberry's spring/summer collection saw Emma Hill departing from her role as creative director at Vogue, and she definitely went out with a bang. With metallic suits, vibrant floral prints that had a 70s vibe, same-tone stripes and luxurious leather. I particularly lik the detail of the stand of buttons lining down the side of skirts eand dresses.

My personal favourite collection though from LFW, was Burberry's.

I love Burberry and how quintessentially British it is, and supports British production and its resources, and Christopher Bailey created a fantasy of vibrant pastels and delicate sheer dreams.

The use of lace and high-waisted underwear looked both chic and classic, and I love all the use of embellishment.
I love all the classic trenches with a fun and feminine twist, and also the twisted and tied necklines  and skirts, and the slick pencil dresses.
And if pastels are a bit wishy-washy for you, there were also bold red and polka dots on show, which had an air about the 60s about them.
This was seen in the menswear as well, and I don't often have much to say bout the menswear, but I really loved how smart yet fun it was.
This is pretty much all my favourite things in one collection, and the finale for it could not be more beautiful, with pastel petals raining down.
