Certain Romance

With hearts dotted all over my shirt, and a pastel pink fluffy number on, I definitely had my hopeless romantic hat on this day.
And if this wasn't enough, my bright Calpol/Pepto Bismol coat came along for the ride too.
coat: River Island, shirt: Topshop, jumper: Topshop, jeans: ASOS, boots: Timberland, necklace: La Maison, bag: Louis Vuitton
My skinny jeans came to break up this sickeningly sweet and pastel theme, and the sensible and grown-up leather accessories in my life brought everything back down to earth from the fluffy, dreamy clouds.
I recently received this classic beauty in my life as pass-me-down from my mum and I am besotted with it.
Everything from the iconic and simple monogram to the detail of the engraving on the shiny, gold buckle.
A week or so ago I went to a fancy dress party for my friend's birthday dressed as Ariel from The Little Mermaid, and when I do fancy dress, I don't so it by halves! So, I got some blue contacts to match her, and I loved them so much, I still wear them time-to-time when I fancy a change. I think they're a really fun and non-committal way to experiment with your look!
The more and more I try to find the perfect balance between dressing for the playful and classic sides of me, the more I find myself experimenting more with what I wear, and it's nice to break out of a rut and try new things.

Flippin' Heck!

Yesterday was Pancake Day. One of the best days on the calender!

I went round to my friend, Cat's house, and she was the best hostess!
Since moving into halls for my postgrad course, it was so nice to be in a proper home that felt lived in and loved. It just felt completely calm and homely and after a fragile morning due to a few too many cocktails the night before, it was just what the doctor ordered!
She made tea, she had bacon sizzling away and an assortment of pancake companions laid out ready.
Not only that, but we didn't just cook using your standard frying pan, no siree. She had a mini pancake stove ready and it was the cutest and most fun thing!
I had every combination possible. Nutella. Bacon and syrup. And my favourite which is a classic, lemon and sugar. I think my blood stream is pure pancake batter now!
With the softest cat I've ever met to cuddle, a pot of tea to keep pouring, and relaxing times with fantastic friends, it was just pure bliss.
What did you do for pancake day? What your favourite topping?

Hoe you're all well,
Speak soon.

Something in the Eyre

Rudimental have completely blown up on the airwaves throughout 2013, and rightly so. Their songs are powerful and infectious and their lyrics are strong and inspiring. I couldn't stop screaming the words "tell me that you want meeee, tell me that you need meeee" for the best part of last year, and they are my go-to when I need a bit of a power boost at the gym.
And the girl responsible for the vocals of this powerhouse anthem is a lil lady with a big voice and just as big hair: Miss.Ella Eyre.
At just 19-years-old, this blonde haired beauty has already scored a no.1 single along with Rudimental and last week picked up her first Brit award for it.
She performed at the awards as well, along with one of my other personal favorites, Bastille, and she went for it and gave it her all, absolutely smashed it and was fierce as heck!

Not only does she have an amazing set of lungs on her but she also has a great sense of style which is simple, yet fun and fresh.
I also have the biggest hair envy over her fabulous and fierce mane.
Here's her performance at the Brits with Rudimental as Bastille, and if you haven't already, I'd definitely go check out her voice on YouTube.

What do you think if Ella? Think she's gonna blow up on her own 2 feet this year?
