Ample of sequins in April

April marked the month of my 25th birthday and I danced into like I was a rainbow disco queen.
If you can't wear a obnoxious mermaid number on your birthday, then when can you eh?

And it seems like turning a quarter of a century hasn't done much for my maturity.
The moving-sequin tops are still out in full force, and received an array or ridiculous and amazing gifts. Seashell sippy cups for when I'm thirsty, unicorn and leopard print bags for all my silly belongings, and Jem and the Hologram worthy skirts for dancing through the galaxy.

And when a girl gets such amazing things, you really can't complain. Especially when you're wearing a Brighton stick of rock version of a dress.

Once you go striped you can't go back. So a pastel-toned strappy number reminiscent of That 70s Show should just about do the trick. Perfect paired with denim up top or down bottom,

Or let's speed things out to the 80s and do everything a bit Stevie Nicks with a kimono. And with the temperate starting to hot up, things tend to get a bit tropical and the crop tops tend to creep up.

But hey, we're in England. Things don't ever stay hot for too long. So palm trees tone down to pretty florals and toucans when the weather tones down too.

Until next time,

Absolute April!

April is one of my favourite months, and I'm not gonna lie, part of the reason why I love it so much is because it's MY BIRTHDAY! And what better way to celebrate getting older and not really that much wiser, than with a LBD (psst, it's backless! oo-er.) Oh, and 2 metallic silver MASSIVE balloons to let everyone how old you are. Of course.

And let's face it, getting older was never going to stop me wearing ridiculous and silly things now was it. There's too many moving sequinned tops, heart sequinned bras, cactus printed shorts and tassled slogan sweatshirts to get through.

But don't worry I'm practical too! If by practical you mean a sport Space Jam basketball jersey and an equally as sporty Adidas jacket. SPORTS.

Oh, and there were stripes involved - colourful, tied-up stripey numbers...

ALL the stripes. From jeans to go with bright lemon-yellow midi skirts.

See, told you it went with yellow. Even when that yellow is in the form of a fisherman-style raincoat. Which go perfectly with floral embroidered jeans. All the essential one needs to go away on holiday right?

But that doesn't mean I can't do dar and mysterious as well! Look at that dark lipstic, strappy cami and metallic leather skirt. All the many, mad dimensions to how I like to dress y'all.

But let's face it, I'm just gonna end up back to comfort. Whether that's a slouchy jumpsuit, a shirt worthy of a sleepover, or your actual pyjamas. Comfort is king kids.

Until next time,
A.x

Bassett Allsorts

Do you ever have those outfits which you  know is just a fail-safe option. You can put it together in a dash, knowing you can rush out of the house without looking too much in a shambles.

And this is one of my fail-safe outfits.
As you can tell by the greenery and bare legs, this was taken quite a while back, my legs haven't come in contact with the outside, and might I add, FREEZING, air, in a long time!

Yet, I have worn this outfit again and again. Even with the cold northern chill out-staying it's welcome. There's nothing a pair of tights can't fix!

I love the blocking of bright, bold colours on this skirt, and it always makes me think I've just plucked it out of a packet of Bassett Allsorts!
This jumper is the both the coziest and most fun thing I ever did wear! With a growling, fierce panther on it, it's enogh to scare off any predators, yet the once again bold and bright polka dots is enough fun to tame down any big kitty.
Orange is just a colour that doesnt run through my wardrobe very reguarly, but this pop of a sunny hue is has een welcomed by welcomed arms! I love how the polka dots and the orange stripe i nthe skirt ties in together, and to bring this through een more, I rolled up the sleeves of my cozy piee of knit, so the orange from the inside peeps through too.
To top it off, some orang strappy sandals and some coral polish.

Now, if Spring would just hurry back along, I can whack this ensemble back out again! Sandals and all!
jumper: Topshop, skirt: Topshop, sandals: Kurt Geiger
Are you guys excited for Spring to come back around? Or are you quite content snuggling up in Winter for a bit longer?

Hope you're all well,

Cherry Pop

If you know me, you'll know that have a ridiculous collection of ribbons. Yes. I'm 21-years-old and own an assortment of multiple ribbons...

And tying them into my hair to perk it up a little bit is one my favourite things to do with them, and today was no exception.
With a stripy top on, which I always feel very Parisian and chic in, I undid all the chic-ness when I buckled up the straps on my little pinafore dress.
Mix and matching with textures, I found a shiny pair of dark cherry shoes to be friends with my dark cherry, velvet ribbon.
With shiny, gold buckles on my shoes gleaming with every step, I buckled up my belt for some more added golden goodness.
Carrying on the golden glitz, I had these cute lil' hoops swinging happily on my ears.
As I get older, I find myself trying to find the balance of dressing more in a more mature and sensible manner, while still keeping my own sense of girly fun and whimsy.
top: Anthropologie, pinafore: Miss.Selfridge, belt: AWear
However, as I stepped out of my door, I felt like I was about to skip to school in my preppy uniform...oh well!

Hope you're all well,

Ahoy Sailor!

With the heatwave dying down and the typical British weather sadly making more of an appearnce these days, my short shorts weren't accompanied by a bright, summery top this day.
So my high waisted shorts, with buttons with anchors on to top it off, they had to find a new partner in crime, in the form of a textured navy blue and white cropped top.

Instead of the typical combination of blue, white and red, I jumped into my perky, pink Nike high-tops, and my hair went along for this pink ride as well, as it went under a bit of a colour transformation.
(this is from my instagram, which you can follow me on here! @amylo92)

I heard and watched person upon person chalk their hair with simple art pastels, but with my hair being so dark, it just didn't work that well, even when I wet it as suggested. However, I came across this little beauty, which made my hair into a rainbow of colours with ease (even if it came with a bit of mess!)

I think it's a really fun way to change up your hair without committing. What colour would you add to your hair?
