Full-on February

February fashion was full-on. And by that, I mean that I wore a 90s Britney Spears-esque pink crop top, paired with a baby blue mini skirt and topped off with a lilac coat for my first day of a new job. Basically, an ice-cream sundae.
Oh, and metallic, multi-coloured pom-pom shoes....start as I meant to go on right?

Not surprising really when I own accessories such as a heart-shaped 'Don't be a dick' pin badge, a furry Bambi skirt (complete with bunny mug, naturally), and an extra pair of fluffball footwear. A girl can never have too many pom-poms y'know?
I mean....this sweatshirt is full-on in just a whole different way...
I love it. And I hate that I love it. (Don't judge me k)
Oh, Baron Von Trap, how I love you and your sassy rhymes and pun-tastic slogans.

Never fear though, Kenzo Paris is here to save the day with it's ditsy, cute prints of New York and Paris, and knitted, pastel portraits of Les Mis.
Even Parisian chic stripes can't just be left at that it seems. Yet more pom-poms on my feet and a big ol' Pink Ladies worthy coat to ruin it all. Or improve it. However you want to see it really babes.
Even when I put away the pastels (which, to be honest, isn't very honest) - it can't just be black and chic and simple can it?
Noooo, I have to wear an & Other Stories dress with animals and envelopes all over it, and borrow a top off Dennis the Menace to wear underneath my dungaree dress.

But I somehow manage to redeem myself with deep plunging 70s dresses, black fedoras and high necklines.
I even managed to look somewhat - dare I say it - cool? A big ol' shearling denim jacket overa cropped khaki halterneck and black midi skirt. I've even got a hun in! Who do I think I am!
Stop it now...I even got put some hoops in and the halter top has a chain fastening. Someone stop me. Who knew I had it in me eh?

Playtime July

July saw the welcome of a heatwave. Yes, a heatwave. And not like a measly 22 degrees British kind of heatwave, like a proper legit one - it was 33 degrees!
So thinking of what you can wear on a packed commute in that heat is enough to make any girl's head tizzy. As little as possible basically if what you want on your body, and unless you have the confidence of Beyonce to rock up to work in a bikini or something of that ilk (which if you do, props on you and WHERE DO YOU WORK?), a strapless, short playsuit should do the trick.
Bonus point if it's got palm trees printed all over it - it is summer after all! (and god knows they never last for long in ol' UK!)
Or if going all out on the skin front is too much for you, exposing your back will do wonders - c'mon, give the guy some space to breath. Whether it's in the form of a bright and cheerful Hawaiian-eaque floaty and floral cami top, or a long pastel maxi dress complete with side-splits and a lace-up back. Background of Kensignton gardens optional.
People seeing the back of you has never looked as stylish.
You know what else you do in the summer? Splash around in the ocean. And you know who else lives in the ocean? Mermaids of course.
If you're sat in the office working and can't have a little paddle in the water, you'll be safe in the knowledge that you can look down at your watch and get lost in the aquatic gemstones that you picked up at Greenwich market. What a beaut.
Or y'know, there's the much less sensible option of a rainbow holographic t-shirt with a 90s throwback vibe - Sega Mega babe yo!
You know what else is not really that sensible? Going to dinner with your friends and having them greet you as Princess Jasmine because you've got oriental patterned culottes and an amethyst tiara on. Some say niche, I say AMAZING.
Also, for the longest time, I think culottes wouldn't flatter a 5 ft 5 girl with not the longest legs in the world. Oh how wrong I was. I'm sorry I ever doubted you my chic and comfy friend.
Or if that's just all too much to take in, let's take it back to basics. I'm talking denim and clean white threads (do kids even say that these days?) From ripped jeans and frayed, vintage dunga skirts covered in pockets, to holographic hi-tops and sheer, netted tops.
On a more serious note as well, can we just talk about how on point the message on this sweatshirt is? Not to mention just how darn comfy this bad boy also is.

Shirt too jazzy? It is a LITTLE jazzy...
(10 points to you if you get that reference)
Although I'm all about the patterns, they're usually floral and-or pastel, so autumnly colours and shimmery Morcoccan vibes? It's  like someone took the typical Amy and actually made her look like an adult. Topped off with a hat and plain denim or any sort and job's a good 'un.
Ok, serious time over, let normal scheduling resume! And that means initialled bags and multi-coloured pom-pom shoes - oh, which are also holographic by the way.
Couldn't be happier than when I'm in denim, with heart sunglasses on, with a pint and a hot dog in my hand. Life's fucking great ain't it?

Stay happy!
Until next time...

Walk a mile in these Louboutins

There are many women out there who I admire, with a few that I have major girl crushes on, and at the moment, they've all but flippantly pushed to the side to make way to one beautiful and bootylicious lady.

I present to you, Iggy Azalea.
Now, I'm sure most of you know who this Aussie beauty is, but just in case you don't, here's the thumping, catchy single that introduced her into my life.
And ever then, I've been a woman obsessed, from digging into her music archive and listening and loving her music, to being hypnotized by her swooshing ponytail.
If the curves of her powerful pout and her fantastic figure didn't entice you in, then I'm sure your ears won't be able to resist the infectious beats and clever and thought provoking lyrics of her music.
Being a former model with legs going on for miles, she moved to America with her obsession of hip hop, and worked her lil pert booty off, after feeling like she was an outsider in her own country.

Collaborating with the likes of T.I and with lyrics that bringing light to and questioning social issues such as children taking part in beauty pageants (Murda Bizness) and autobiographical ones that tell us the strains she's been through (Work), she's already making waves on the music scene as she became the first female and non-American rapper featured on XXL's yearly Top 10 Freshman cover issue.

And she's only just getting started.
Apart from lusting over her amazing fierce yet beautifully feminine style and wardrobe, she has also smashed through the stereotypes and conformist moulds of the hip-hop and rap industry, just like Jermery Lin is in the world of basketball (Linsanity anyone?!)
In my opinion, there shouldn't being any moulds to fit into, every person is unique and that something that makes them special, and with people like Iggy and Jermery around breaking down these boundaries and walls, let's hope more and more of the world will realise this too.

With her newest music video, which is a visual beauty, bursting with vivid colours, I'm finding it hard to resist the urge to splurge on some new colourful and sparkling hair accessories!

All hair accessories from ASOS
What do you think of Iggy? Love her or loathe her?

I'm always on the lookout for new and fresh music, so if you have any suggestions for me to check out, please do comment below!

Hope you're all well,
Speak soon,

Donna Wilson

Once again, i got enticed by ASOS. Every Sunday they have a fantastic event called Savvy Sunday, where they have a particular offer on that lasts for just 24 hours, and a couple of weekends back, there was one particular offer one based around accessories, and i decided to have a little snoop around.

A snazzy little scarf caught my eye, it was bright and colourful, and made me smile in this bitterly cold weather, and had such a brilliant print on it and i found out it was by a print artist that goes by the name of Donna Wilson. I definitely needed to find out some more about this brilliant artist!

She has a brilliant way with colour and create the most cheerful and fun and whimsical pieces I've seen in a long time. Being quoted as a 'material marvel' and being 'wonderful with wool', there are pieces that are  adorably wacky, such as the fox scarf, to pieces that are bright, fun and so different to other stuff that's out there, yet still extremely wearable. I'm just kicking myself that i didn't know about this brilliant lady earlier!

When i received this little beauty through the post, i was amazed at how soft it was! I love the little cute and heartwarming tag and the fact it's made in Scotland. Manufacturing in the Great Britain is dying down and i always find it inspiring when companies still do, and i try to support them when i can.

I absolutely love this new addition to my winter wardrobe and can see it being a regular for many years to come as it's great quality. I think it looks great brightening up a neutral outfit, or teamed up with another item that is a colour out of the scarf to highlight it.

With all the cold weather and Christmas coming up, so many of these items would be ideal for presents for loved ones of cheeky ones for yourself, with toys and scarves for kids or kits, prints and cushions for big kids at heart.

Donna has her own blog and also a website where you can buy all kinds of wonderful wonders.

So if you're feeling a bit blue from the cold weather and have a horrific cold like me, or work and assignments are piling up, go check out her website as i'm sure there's soemthing there that will bring a smile to your face.
And i highly suggest you keep an eye out for these Savvy Sundays on ASOS as they have some great offers and most of the time, is where i rack up all my goodies as the discounts are pretty substantial, and you also sometimes get to discover new brands or designers that you may not have come across before. Even when offers aren't on though, the also have 10% student discount all year round which is perfect for any students like me who are naughty and love to shop.

What do you think to Donna's prints? A fun and whimsical addition to adult life or should be left for kids?
