Holographic happenings through February

What that I see? A hint of spring trying to peek through?!
So I'm trying to lure out the sunshine and warmth with florals - groundbreaking, I know - but when they're in the form of a choker or on a background of a metallic silver leather jacket, it's hard not to strut into a new season feeling like a rockstar.
If a David Bowie-esque jacket wasn't enough, then shimmery culottes, a metallic pink mini skirt or Dolly Parton worthy glittery boots should do the trick.
And nothing goes better with a holographic palette than a sassy slogan. U ok hun? Well, everything is more than OK when there's a slogan tshirt in town.
Espeically if that slogan tshirt is for an amazing cause supporting Breast Cancer Haven AND it quotes Fergie. What else do you need?
But why go subtle with a slogan tee when you can go the full-hog with a Space Jam basketball jersey. Gotta support my homegirl Lola Bunny y'all.
My girly heart can not get over this uber-cute and uber-glitzy heart shaped choker. Real Marie from Aristocats vibes going on here.
But it's not always pink clouds and fluffy unicorns round these parts. Especially when there's crimped hair and dark lipstick to be worn.
At the end of the day though, you can't go wrong with old faithful. Red lippy, you've never done me wrong girl.

Until next time,

Dancing through December

Winter is the perfect time for a spot of shearling.
Whether that's long and swooping along the floor like you're part of a 90s pop music video, or short and denim like a 19-year-old hipster.

You know what the other thing that's great in December? Red. All the red during the festive season please. Whether that's a simple and bold lippy, a punky pleated skirt or a sparkly slogan sweat.

And on the days you're feeling really lazy? An oversized 101 Dalmations sweatshirt with a big ol' Lazy Oaf heart.
Sassy over the knee boots optional.

And when the festive season gets all too much, put on your chunkiest and coziest piece of knitwear to hide the fact that you've eaten so many pigs in blankets that you've in fact, become an actual pig in blanket.

As a regular Mrs.Christmas myself, it'll surprise no-one that I'll have festive headgear on me more often than not. Whether it's more on the subtle side with a sprig of mistletoe or go all-singing, all-dancing with a flashing headband of tinsel.

Throw in a pair of pom-pom earrings and a metallic gold skirt and you're ready for a night out of fizz and festivities.

But you know, there's times you have to go hog-wild and when those times call, find you're jazziest Winter Slopes top and matching it with a shimmering, mermaid pleated number...

Or why hold back? Deck your jumper with boughs of holly and tie that tutu round your waist.

And who says clothes get to have all the fun. Time to fab up the hair with hues or purples and blues.

But the star of the show? The star at the top of the December tree? This magical LBD.

Sparkly stars ahoy, and a crown to finish the whole thing off because you know, it was just a bit too low-key.
The look of a girl living her best life y'all. Living. Best. Life.

October pink & pizazz

October means winter is well and truly here, and well, with early nights and darker mornings, that means darker clothes. But before you feel too glum, remember that the festive season is also on it's way! So glitz up your gladrags with gold-stitched shorts, skirts and belts.

Or just, y'know, go the whole hog. If MC Hammer wore playsuits, this is SO what he would be rockin'
Perfect for a night of drinking and dancing, but sadly I will never learn that money and calories seem to still count on the weekend (sigh)

Yep. Sadly a baller at the weekends, and just plain ol' skint throughout the rest of the week. At least spend my weekend wearing sassy thigh highs and a swishy Lakers dress, trying to be a different kind of baller.

And even when the daily grind of your skint life gets to you, you know you can brighten it up with multicoloured scarves and skirts!

And of course, with October comes Halloween. And yes, you could just rock a dark lip to work while rockin' your high ponytail like it's 1990

But why do that why you can go full-blown Ursula, complete with seashell necklace, white hair and  iridescent cheeks worthy of a underwater witch.
(FYI, the coloured hair spray was loads of fun to wash out the next morning while accompanied by a hangover.)

But why does the dressing up and fun have to be restricted just to Halloween?! If you need me, I'll be wearing ALL the jazzy accessories from crystal tiaras and fluffy scarves to shimmering butterfly heels.

But at the end of the day, surprise, surprise! This girl loves a bit of pink - whether it's in the form of spots...

...stripes....

...or teamed with sportswear (Baby and Sport Spice, UNITE!)

Heck, I've even got a pink coat that makes me feel like Detective Barbie!

What can I say? I'm just born to be a lil pink piggy.

Until next time!

Swoon in June!

Rain and grey skies is no way to spend June, so I took matters into my own hands and packed up all the essentials a gal needs for a couple of days in the sun, and jetted off to Portugal with an old friend.
And beofre you know it, the Wilma Flinstone bikini was thrown on, plaits were braided and there were magically cocktails and wine to hand.
And if that wasn't enough, I also got to frolic around a deserted island in a Morrocan tile rinted one-piece. But with all the cut-outs and deep plunge, had to make sure I didn't frolic TOO hard. Don't want any wardrobe malfunctions being posted to Snapchat now do we...
After a hard day of lying in the sun and splashing in the sea, it's only right you treat yourself to some Portugese green wine (it's AMAZING) and local tapas while dressed in a strapless lace dress that's as orange as the orange trees that fill the town.

Sadly, holidays DO have to come to an end at some point and although you have to return back to the 9-5 grind, jsut feel safe in the knowledge knowing that everything in life is better with a tan. So flaunt that badass kiss you got from the sun with a strappy cold-shoulder top in bright white and a pop of pink lippy. Holiday blues have ever looked so good!

If a bronzed bod isn't good enough though, then head into the office looking like a Barbie Girl you played with when you were 6 years old in a Bardot-style bubblegum pink dress, complete with white ribbon and heart-charmed choker. Other names inclde Sandy from Grease and Jigglypuff. All ridiculous. All acceptable.
Someimes though, not enough pink in the world is enough to save the political state of the world and you need to dress to match your campaign sticker and say 'Hey bouys and gulls - please remember to vote!'

And envitably when the results don't...QUITE how you would have hoped, cheer yourself up by hiching up your lilac tutu and knocking over every passenger on the tube.
But somehow, I don't think dressing up as a grown up ballerina will quite do for a swanky brunch on the 40th floor overlooking the London city skyline. And when those times come along, it's time to whip out the swishy and starry printed dress that makes me feel like in a carefree Stevi nicks who's just swoshing her flared sleeves through life.
Oh. And can we just appreciate these black beauties of a pair of boots. Treaded. Pointed. Heels. Oh somebody stop me before I get too carried away...

But who can totter around in towering boots all day eh? Time to dig out those black Vans you lived in when you were about 15 and was deperately trying to be a skater girl just so you can nab yourself a sk8er boyfriend.
Who knew that trainers from your adolescence could be so versatile eh? Team with your fave brightly coloured fun and flirty strappy dress, or with a graphic covered Adidas top and stripy skirt combo that makes you feel as cool as Gwen Stefani (even if you don't LOOK as cool as her...sigh...)

And as if bringing your footwear back from your youth wasn't enough, I still rock the same hairstyles I sported back from my childhood. High half-up ponytail anyone? All I'm missing is a bone going through it and I could be Pebbles from the flipping Flinstones.
At least I've a strappy white top and ripped jeans to bring me back down - or up should I say - to my age!

And by now, you know my undying love for dungarees. As much as I love the denim (so much so that I've been known to double up on more than one occasion!) sometimes you just need to step up your game with a suede khaki green number.

And while the weather why not be in keeping with the Summer season, doesn't mean your wardrobe can't be with an injection of flower power. Silky bomber jackets or white jeans like your mum would've rocked in the 80s - you can never have enough florals (no matter what Devil Wears Prada tells ya)

Until next time,

Oh hey May!

I'm so late on this, July is creeping up and May seems like a lifetime ago - I guess that's when you know life's been good to you eh? Oh that you're just getting old and time's going by quick like a motherfucker. Yep. It's probably that.

But the thing is, when you're living that adult life, and you become ill. You can't really just stay in bed and have a Parks and Rec marathon (as much as you'd like to). Instead, you have your eyeliner on point, hop yourself up on medicinal drugs, and put your pink jumpsuit on to stride into work.
It's what the doctor would've prescribed anyway no doubt.

But don't worry! Adult life also mean fun things like first dates where you get to whip out your sassy disco pants and star-printed wraparound top that is just a little out of this world.
Oh, and also not so fun things like waking in horrifically hungover in last night's dungarees. When all you were planning was a quikc pint or two down at the pub...
Pom poms, badges, and 90s basketball jerseys?
See. I told you. ADULT.

But don't worry. I tackle the important issues as well, like girl power and sarcastic slogans. Both of which are actually two very impotant pillars in my life.
But enough of all this serious adult malarky - when it comes to the weekend, surely it's playtime? And I hear Club Tropicana does 2 for 1 mojitos, so imma head over there in some slouchy striped trousers perfect for busting out the dance moves, with a tropical crop top to boot. And let's throw in a braided faux-mohawk in for good measure eh? Yeah, why not!
Ah, and let's not bypass my new obsessed with Puma. I'm a Nike girl through and through but tropical ptints and rose gold lettering? Well, can could I say no eh?
And when all's said and done, you just can't beat a denim jacket to get you through the...let's say tempermental British summer weather. Emblazoned with ombred embroiderary and topped off with stripes on your bum and sparkles on your bow - that's enough to get you through the Endless summer.

Until next time...

Absolute April!

April is one of my favourite months, and I'm not gonna lie, part of the reason why I love it so much is because it's MY BIRTHDAY! And what better way to celebrate getting older and not really that much wiser, than with a LBD (psst, it's backless! oo-er.) Oh, and 2 metallic silver MASSIVE balloons to let everyone how old you are. Of course.

And let's face it, getting older was never going to stop me wearing ridiculous and silly things now was it. There's too many moving sequinned tops, heart sequinned bras, cactus printed shorts and tassled slogan sweatshirts to get through.

But don't worry I'm practical too! If by practical you mean a sport Space Jam basketball jersey and an equally as sporty Adidas jacket. SPORTS.

Oh, and there were stripes involved - colourful, tied-up stripey numbers...

ALL the stripes. From jeans to go with bright lemon-yellow midi skirts.

See, told you it went with yellow. Even when that yellow is in the form of a fisherman-style raincoat. Which go perfectly with floral embroidered jeans. All the essential one needs to go away on holiday right?

But that doesn't mean I can't do dar and mysterious as well! Look at that dark lipstic, strappy cami and metallic leather skirt. All the many, mad dimensions to how I like to dress y'all.

But let's face it, I'm just gonna end up back to comfort. Whether that's a slouchy jumpsuit, a shirt worthy of a sleepover, or your actual pyjamas. Comfort is king kids.

Until next time,
A.x
